The donut paragraph reminds me of a night my mother went to help an abuse survivor to get her out of the house. I was a teenager, so I wasn't there. Her daughter spoke at my mother's funeral and talked about the beer bottle that her father hurled at my mother's head (and missed). My mother was a lioness.
I love this 🧡 I've always considered myself "bad" at writing fiction because I tend towards more atmospheric writing rather than plot. My creative writing teachers in college were always perturbed by this. I really like all these different, vivd, snippets. It's like getting to see into many worlds 🌎
Yes. Write about what left a mark, not only about what is making noise. The things that stay with us are rarely trends. They are a face in morning light, a hand on our skin, a sentence we wish we could take back, a stranger who still believes the good days are coming. This is where writing becomes more than content.

Your mother sounds absolutely incredible ❤️❤️❤️
She was. As fearless as she was caring.
She was. At 5’ tall she was larger than life.
Loved this so much ❤️
Thank you so much for your support! You’re the best! ❤️

Parts of this story hit close to home. I could see each line you wrote because I've lived some of it myself.
Obviously, I found this very moving, Kelly.
